Hello Hawks Family,

It’s safe to say that “2015 WAS THE YEAR OF THE HAWK”! It’s crazy to think that just a few years ago the Hawks program was merely a thought and by the end of our third season we had 4 out of 5 teams playing for a championship! It’s truly a pleasure to watch so many players and parents alike experience playoff football and share in the success that 2015 presented. Our goal for the 2016 season will be to continue to grow as a football family and gain momentum from last year. It sounds easy enough, but make no mistake it will take a lot of hard work and dedication to reach our goals in 2016!

As you know, our organization is run by volunteers. We are constructed of board members, head coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, and all sorts of game day positions. Some of those roles on game day consist of ticket booth, grill, concession stand, ice runner, apparel sales, chain crew, garbage control, water runner, and the list goes on and on. It takes a small army to get through our 14 hour Saturdays when we have home games. Every season we have new families that jump in to help make it all happen and for that we are grateful.
But like in all things, as time passes and our organization grows…sometimes people move on while others stay and new families are added. In fact a few of our families have decided to do just that. Although we are saddened by their decision to move on; we wish them well and thank them for the time and service they freely gave. Everything that they have done to help the HAWKS get to where we are today is irreplaceable. Their support definitely helped shape us into who we have become so…. THANK YOU! We wish you all the very best.

With a new season fast approaching we invite you to get involved. Even if you only have an hour to give, it all adds up. It’s a great way for your high school students to knock out their volunteer hours as well so please reach out by phone or email and provide us with your contact information. We look forward to adding you to our volunteer roster!

In preparations for the 2016 season we are packing up helmets to be sent for reconditioning and taking inventory of our other equipment to see what we are going to need to replace. It is our goal to surpass the accomplishments of 2015 with activities for our parents, players & cheerleaders which is a huge undertaking considering the success that we all shared. Registration will be held on Saturday, January 30th from 9am to 3 pm and on Sunday, January 31st from 10am to 1pm @ Mariner High School and also February 6th and 7th @ Better Athletes Performance Center. The cost is $199 for Spring AND Fall. With our Spring football session only 2 ½ months away it’s very important that we get the equipment order placed quickly and accurately so please mark your calendars and plan to attend one of these two weekends so your child has equipment. We know some of you pre-registered in 2015 for this up-coming season. If you are on a payment plan with us you MUST attend this registration.

Further-more on Saturday, January 30th during registration we will be offering a FREE SKILLS EVALUATION, for players organized by Torrance McCray, a well-known local trainer with the Better Athlete Performance Center.

We look forward to continued growth and another successful season in 2016. We would like to thank you in advance for getting involved and volunteering and look forward to seeing you January 30th or 31st.
